Coachella Returns to Fortnite in 2024 With Two Weekends of Festival Fun
A virtual environment recreates the feeling of being at the real-world event.
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has brought its party atmosphere back to Fortnite in 2024, with in-game makeovers and two weekends of updates arriving in sync with the real-world event.
Coachella is one of the world’s largest festivals, but those who couldn’t snag physical tickets will still be able to enjoy the experience by jumping into the immensely popular battle royale shooter. As detailed on the Fortnite website, Coachella's virtual show has already opened its gates to partygoers, with further items and updates to come across the two main weekends of Coachella 2024 (April 12-14 and April 19-21).
During the Fortnite x Coachella 2024 experience, the game’s Festival Jam Stage has been reworked to include several iconic Coachella installations, including Le Grande Wheel and Spectra Tower. Jam Tracks from Coachella artists like Bleachers, Blur, Doja Cat, and more will be added to the Festival Main Stage’s featured rotation from April 11 until April 18. The tracks will also be available in Fortnite’s shop for the duration.
Fortnite’s Main Stage has been spruced up as well with a Coachella-themed video screen. It gives fans the opportunity to enjoy a virtual taste of what it feels like to jam out in front of a roaring crowd.
In addition to the new environments, Fortnite is adding a plethora of items tied to Coachella 2024. These include weapons, emotes, skins, and cosmetics, several of which are linked with musical artists.
Headline act of Coachella 2024 Doja Cat will have her own emote added to the in-game shop during the first weekend of Coachella, as will American singer Sabrina Carpenter. The second weekend will see Colombian singer J. Balvin celebrate his Coachella performance in virtual form thanks to a new Inferno Skeleton outfit arriving in the game’s shop on April 18.
The detailing blog post notes that content creators who are part of the Support-A-Creator program will be able to host monetized content on YouTube which includes Coachella 2024 Jam Tracks. So long as their YouTube and Support-A-Creator accounts are linked, creators shouldn’t receive any copyright strikes for Unlisted or Public videos on the platform.
Fortnite’s previous 2023 Coachella experience saw players invited to Coachella Island. The unique map played host to a series of Coachella quests through which players could unlock items connected to the festival.
