Roblox The Hunt: First Edition Highlights the Power of Limited-Time Events
The metaverse platform shared stats from its popular community event.
In March 2024, Roblox hosted The Hunt: First Edition, the company’s first platform-wide event to be held in three years. The Hunt encouraged players to try up to 100 participating Roblox experiences and complete quests for the chance to receive rewards on the Roblox platform.
Roblox said 34 million users participated in The Hunt: First Edition event, with 800,000 gathering for the start of the event on March 15.
The Hunt: First Edition showcased the ability of limited-time events to draw in and retain audiences. Roblox said participants spent 128 million hours completing 212 million quests during The Hunt.
Following the success of The Hunt: First Edition, Roblox said it’s “working on new tools to help our creators hold their own events tied to major moments they want to share with their audiences.”
In addition, Roblox said The Hunt: First Edition won’t be the last community-wide event the company hosts: “[T]hink of The Hunt: First Edition as a lightweight re-entry into community-wide events. In the coming months and years, we’ll continue our new series and explore fresh themes and ideas that will rev up our community.”
