Skechers Uses Roblox to Promote Real-World Footwear
A virtual Skechers storefront in the Livetopia experience saw 3.4 million visits in the first five weeks.
Footwear and apparel company Skechers partnered with content creation firm Super League to bring a virtual Skechers storefront to the popular Livetopia Roblox experience.
The storefront existed within the “Topia Mall” section of the Livetopia experience, and allowed visitors to participate in a “treasure hunt” to earn Skechers-branded digital items.
In the first five weeks of the virtual storefront’s availability, the store saw 3.4 million visits, four million item try-ons, and almost 45 million impressions.
In a press release, Skechers president, Michael Greenberg, commented on this activation:
“Our activation in Topia Mall is yet another example of how we seek to connect and engage with our fans on the platforms where they socialize, from social media and gaming to immersive metaverses.”
Jason Steyaert, head of global brand partnerships for Livetopia developer Century Games, added:
“We are thrilled to have partnered with Super League and Skechers on a retail concept that we think will set the stage for e-commerce in the near future. This form of organic engagement, coupled with our tens of millions of monthly active users (MAU), has helped Skechers get in front of a specific audience in a meaningful way. We are also grateful for Roblox’s continued support through our partnership to help advance online shopping to new heights.”
Skechers is one of the latest real-world fashion brands to use Roblox to reach potential shoppers. From luxury fashion brands like Hugo Boss to more casual retailers like Pacsun, a wide variety of companies have brought their real-world products and stores to life in Roblox’s virtual worlds.
