Understanding Generation Alpha’s Gaming Preferences
Moonrock analyzed Gen Alpha survey responses to discover what this age group cares about most in their gaming experiences.
In order to help brands market to Gen Alpha gamers, those players born between 2010 and 2025, Moonrock dove into the data, analyzing survey results from Newzoo and Razorfish to discover Gen Alpha’s tastes and interests when it comes to video game experiences.
Moonrock discovered Gen Alpha is primarily interested in five core “aspects” of gaming experiences, which the firm dubbed “C.C.O.S.T.:” Challenge, Competition, Ownership, Social, and Teamwork.
For instance, according to Razorfish’s report “Exploring Generation Alpha: A Look into the Future,” 30% of Gen Alpha want to make a difference or help others or the planet.
Meanwhile, according to Newzoo’s 2023 report on how different generations engage with video games, 68% of Gen Alpha respondents said “the ability to socialize with other players and friends” is important.
