Xbox Will Bring Exclusive Games to Other Platforms
Four unannounced titles will be released on platforms outside of Xbox and PC.
In a recent edition of the Official Xbox Podcast, Xbox revealed its plans to bring four Xbox games to other platforms.
While Xbox didn’t name the four games, it did say the titles have been available “for at least a year,” meaning PlayStation 5 and Switch owners shouldn’t expect these games to be new experiences.
According to The Verge, the four games will be Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Sea of Thieves, and Grounded. Those four games were released on Xbox and PC between 2018 (Sea of Thieves) and early 2023 (Hi-Fi Rush), so they match Xbox’s announcement that the four games will have been available for at least a year. However, that lineup hasn’t been confirmed by Xbox as of this writing.
The Xbox website discussed the company’s move to bring Xbox games to other platforms:
“By bringing these games to more players, we not only expand the reach and impact of those titles, but this will allow us to invest in either future versions of these games, or elsewhere in our first-party portfolio. There is no fundamental change to our approach on exclusivity.”
Even with Xbox’s shift to bringing some of its own games to other consoles, the company confirmed that Game Pass (its game subscription service available on Xbox consoles and PC) will continue to only be available on Xbox platforms going forward.
